Look at the rim, closure and attachment.
External reference packs show different closure constructions, not our quoted models or proven IML decoration.

What must a lid-and-handle quotation identify?
A useful quotation identifies the body, matching closure and handle configuration, together with the drawing revision and the intended filled-pack use. It also states the sample arrangement and acceptance requirements. “Lid included” is insufficient if the lid model, seal, opening method and fit are left open.
Treat the pack as an assembly. A diameter or square outline does not prove that a lid engages with the container rim. Similar-looking components may have different profiles, engagement features or tolerances. Ask the supplier to identify the exact compatible pair and provide the corresponding drawing and sample.
Compare closure systems without assuming performance
The reference photographs show physical closure details, not certified performance. A foil closure, rigid snap lid and screw closure are different systems. Do not infer leak resistance, tamper evidence, shelf life or food-contact suitability from their appearance.
| Decision | Rigid lid | Peelable closure |
|---|---|---|
| Opening | Confirm engagement and opening instructions | Confirm the sealing arrangement and peel method |
| Reclosure | Review the actual body-and-lid fit | Ask whether a separate reclosure lid is included |
| Artwork | Confirm the proposed decoration route | Confirm printed information and orientation |
| Approval | Assess the matched assembly | Assess the complete sealed pack and opening experience |
Review the complete lid fit
State the contents and filling conditions before deciding on the closure. Storage, transport, opening frequency and intended use affect the questions you need to ask. A fit check on an empty sample does not establish performance with every filled product.
- Identify body and lid models and the drawing revision.
- Inspect the engagement profile and whether the lid is seated as intended.
- Follow the supplier’s opening and reclosure instructions using the agreed sample.
- Check whether a liner, gasket, foil seal or separate closure element is part of the quoted assembly.
- Record what the sample assessment establishes; request additional application evidence where required.
Define the handle and filled-pack handling
Ask whether the container uses a molded grip, separate plastic handle, metal handle or another carrying arrangement. Identify attachment points, movement, clearance around the lid and the complete-pack dimensions. A handle visible in a photograph is not a verified load rating.
Describe how the filled pack will be lifted, stacked and transported. Agree an assessment using the actual assembly and contents or an appropriate agreed sample. Do not substitute an unverified numerical rating or a generic photograph for that review.
Add assembly details to your quotation brief
- Container reference, target fill volume and contents.
- Matching lid model, sealing components and opening arrangement.
- Required handle configuration and handling conditions.
- Decoration on body and lid, including artwork orientation.
- Sample approval, acceptance criteria and relevant intended-use evidence.
- Quantity, destination, nesting, carton and pallet requirements.
Purchasing questions
Can I select a lid from its diameter alone?
No. Confirm the compatible lid model, rim geometry and fit using the container drawing and matched sample. Nominal diameter alone does not establish compatibility.
Does a handle photo show how much a bucket can carry?
No. Request the actual configuration and agreed filled-pack handling assessment. We do not publish an unverified load rating.
What if the closure is not decided yet?
Describe the contents, filling and opening requirements in your enquiry. Identify the closure as an open decision and ask the quotation to address the complete assembly.
